Hope for the Hurting

Hope for the Hurting is a biblical counseling ministry based at Hope Alliance Bible Church.

Our mission is to help people discover the underlying cause of their problems, develop suitable strategies to achieve Christ-like outcomes, and obtain information and increased awareness about the Word of God to better their life and cultivate a greater intimacy with Jesus Christ.

We attain these goals by helping people heal after trauma and painful events, overcome the obstacles and challenges that plague the community, prosper emotionally, spiritually, and socially and endure the ever present trials of this world. Hope for the Hurting provides counseling to members of HABC and the surrounding community.

Statement of Faith

Lay counselors will utilize the Bible and prayer throughout sessions. Lay counselors uphold the statement of faith issued by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Lay Counselors & Qualifications

Counseling sessions are conducted by lay counselors. Lay counselors are not licensed by the state of Ohio and do not have degrees or certifications from a state accredited entity. Instead, lay counselors are Christians who have a heart and passion to assist people in overcoming the struggles and difficulties of life. Lay counselors have a desire to see you overcome pain and hurt by leading you to true Hope.Counseling sessions are conducted by lay counselors. Lay counselors are not licensed by the state of Ohio and do not have degrees or certifications from a state accredited entity. Instead, lay counselors are Christians who have a heart and passion to assist people in overcoming the struggles and difficulties of life. Lay counselors have a desire to see you overcome pain and hurt by leading you to true Hope.

Due to the biblical and spiritual nature of this ministry, lay counselors are trained through EMERGE Ministries. Each lay counselor is equipped with listening and helping skills, and the application of Biblical/spiritual principles to common issues and struggles. Lay counselors do not possess a professional licenses or certification issued by the State of Ohio for the practice of counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work. Referral options to outside providers are available upon request.

Limits of Confidentiality

The content of each session is confidential except in cases where it is necessary to report the suspicion of child abuse, threats to harm self or others, or to receive supervision.
