Riches and the Righteous
Riches or money is mentioned many times in the Bible. If we include the words gold, silver, wealth, inheritance, debt, poverty, and related topics, it turns out that the Bible pays a great deal of attention to financial matters. I’m convinced that this is because what we do with our riches reveal the condition of our hearts. And it puts a spotlight on who we really serve.
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other.” You cannot serve God and wealth.
In James 5:1-6, we talk about the importance of godly contentment and the relationship a believer should have to material wealth.
